Last Friday was such a spring like day. It was almost 50 degrees and the sun was shining. Of course we had to take advantage of this before we have more cold days so the kids and I went outside with my Dad. The kids and I played ball, Kaitlyn rode her scooter, Logan learned to push her tricycle around. It was so nice to be out. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had:

Field Trip to Dinosaur Museum

Last week, Kaitlyn had a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving point. I was able to go with her. We have never been before. It was so much fun. There was so much to look at and there was a lot of interactive things for the kids. She had so much fun with her friend from her preschool class. Here are a few pictures from the trip:

The first few pictures are from a room called Notion of Motion. It is very interactive for the kids. They had a blast in this room!

Sleeping Princess

A couple of weeks ago Dave and I let Kaitlyn lay in our bed and watch a movie before bedtime. After awhile Dave went in and checked on her and told me that I needed to come see her. This is what I saw:

My 2 Sick Boys

Last week Dave had 5 days off in a row!!! That rarely happens, but when it does we welcome every minute of it:) It is so nice to have him home with us. The only bad part about his time off....him and Logan got sick:( Needless to say...we didn't get much time with Daddy.

Logan started teething again. I hate when this happens. This time around was really bad. He didn't eat anything. All he wanted was milk. He kept moaning and crying and he was SO cuddly. He is totally NOT a cuddle bug so I welcomed every second that he wanted to cuddle. One morning when I got him out of his crib I got him a bottle and laid him on the couch watching Blue's Clues. He didn't move for about 15 mins. Poor Baby:( Here is a picture of him on the couch:

Dave got a horrible cold. The upside to this was that it happened on his days off so he didn't have to call in sick and miss work! He was down for 4 days.

One of the days I was having a hard time trying to cuddle with Logan and get things done that I needed to so I asked Dave if Logan could lay by him for a little while. He was fine with it. I went in a little while later to check on them to make sure they were doing ok and this is what I found:

Both of them passed out in our bed!! So CUTE!!! I love my boys so much!!!

Library Field Trip

Last Monday Kaitlyn had a field trip for preschool. This month they have been learning about words and stories so they went to the library. We got a little tour of it which was fun to see the behind the scenes of everything they do there. Then the lady giving the tour read them 2 books in the children's center. After she got done her teacher had a surprise for all the mom's. Each of her students had written a book. They were the authors and illustrators for their own book! They were all so cute!! Kaitlyn wrote a story about Cinderella. Here is a picture of each page in her book:

Of course they are just little kids and it is hard for them to sit forever this way so her teacher had them get up a couple of times to get their wiggles out!!

It is so fun to have Kaitlyn is school learning. It is so fun to watch her excitement as she comes home from school with new things that she has learned!!!

Family Nerf Wars

A couple of weeks ago Dave had 5 days off in a row from work!! That never happens. I still don't know how it did, but it did!!! YAY for us!! With is also being during the start of school he didn't have much homework so we had a few days to have some family fun!

Dave went to the store one day with Kaitlyn and brought home a few "fun toys!" He bought a couple of Nerf Guns...even a little one for Kaitlyn!! Lets just say the next few days were a blast. We had so much fun shooting each other. We even set up little hid outs in the basement to have some real fun!! It was awesome to feel like a kid again and having lots of fun as a family! Here a a couple of pictures...

Annual Car Show

On Friday January 13 we went to the Annual Car Show at the Expo Center. We have not missed a year since Dave and I met. That is partly because of Dave's Dad being a car salesman and also partly because of my husbands love for cars. This year we thought it would be fun to treat my parents to it. It was fun to have them there and to spend time with them.

It was so fun this year. Jeep had a test track inside the building and people were taking rides in the cars. How fun!! We would have gone but the line was FOREVER long so we just watched. We tried to convince Land Rover to do that next year. Who knows if it will happen...we can only hope!!!! Here are a few pictures of the night. Sorry for the overload....

A couple of weeks ago we had the greatest opportunity to go to a fundraiser concert for LaVar Christensen. He has been along time family friend. They just expanded the boundaries so we can now vote for him!! He was sponsoring a concert that was put on by COLLIN RAYE!!! It was at Jordan High School. What an awesome experience to be in a little auditorium with such an amazing country singer! He did an awesome job. It is seriously one of the best concerts I have been too!! Here is a picture we caught of him:

1st Friends Birthday Party

I totally forgot to write about this last month so I am going to do a little catch up. Kaitlyn went to her very first friends Birthday Party!! She did so well and had so much fun! It was for her friend Zoey. They live in Lehi so my friend told me that I could just come and stay there during the party so I didn't have to drive back and forth. With it being held right before Christmas..Santa came and visited the kids! They LOVED that!

Also during the party they did a cute craft and made a candy cane, decorated cookies, played a few games and had cake!

My 2 Snow Bunnies

Since we FINALLY got a bunch of snow last Saturday I just had to take the kids out and let them play!! They both got snow gear for Christmas. Of course since then Kaitlyn has been dying to go play. We had so much fun!! Here are a few pictures from our time out there...(Sorry for the overload)

I cannot believe it, but last Sunday my little Kaitlyn moved from nursery to sunbeams!! It's so weird to think I now have a child in Primary. Where does the time go?? It definitely goes by way too fast!! Here she is just after church from her first time in Sunbeams/Primary...

I was really nervous for how she would do. For her realizing that she can't play with toys for 2 hours and run around. I teach primary when she is in sharing time and I had to go out in the hall with Logan for a little bit because he was having a hard time and and saw a lady in the Primary Presidency out there. She came up to me and said Kaitlyn was doing so well in there. She was just sitting quietly watching and listening to everything they were doing. She even volunteered to help with something during sharing time! I was so excited to hear this!! I talked with Dave after and he said that's probably because of her being in preschool. I totally agreed with that. I am so glad we have her in preschool right now!! We love you so much little miss Kaitlyn!!

New Years Eve

Dave had to work on New Years Eve. I was really sad about it and was not sure what I was going to do with the kids. It has kind of become a new thing for us because the year before he had to work on New Years Eve too:( It has been hard not to have him with me going into a new year. It is just how life is right now. I just have to remember that one year he will be with me and our kids!!

Any who, I was talking with my in laws on Christmas and I told them that I had to clue what I was going to do since he was working. They were so sweet and invited the kids and I over. Dave's sister, Jill and her family were going to be there too! That got me really excited to be able to be doing something fun to take my mind off things, since it was a really bad week for me and knowing that my hubby was not going to be there.

We had such a BLAST that night!!! We had pizza for dinner with my parents and Dave before he went to work and then the kids and I headed over to the in laws. We played lots of games, ate tons of food and had MANY great laughs...especially when it got late into the night!!

Side story: I just had to write down one crazy funny thing that happened that night....we were all playing Pirates of the Caribbean Life. My spins were not going very well, when I got through 1/4 of the game most of the family was at least 1/2 to 3/4 of the way done with the game!! It got to be funnier and funnier that I kept getting 3 or lower spins. One time I started laughing so hard at all the comments that were being made. I started crying because of it. I then put my head down, turning it to the side and it just so happened that my pop can was right there so I smacked my head on it!!!!!! Oh my, I was really embarrassed, but it was hilarious because it was so loud:)

I decided since we live 2 minutes away from their house that I would take Logan home and put him to bed so I didn't have to move him around later that night. So at 9:30 Kaitlyn and I took him home. My parents were there to keep an eye out for him! It is so nice to be able to do that:) On our way back over to my in laws Kaitlyn started falling asleep :( I was hoping she would make it to midnight, but when we got back she just wanted to lay down. So Grandma put Cinderella in for her to watch on her bed and Kaitlyn totally fell asleep. She was out cold!!

We continued playing games until 12:00am, then went outside and celebrated!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! YAY!!! I am so ready for 2012!

Lights on Temple Square

Last Tuesday night we went downtown to see the lights on Temple Square with my parents. It was definitely not as busy since it was after Christmas. There were still lots of people but you could walk around without feeling like you were walking though herds of people all night. It made the night more enjoyable for us, but it did seem like it was missing something....lots of people!! It was weird for us! This year I told Dave that we had to go early in the night because last year Kaitlyn was asleep for the whole thing. We couldn't wake her up and I didn't want that to happen again. I knew that she would be really into them this year. We failed at that attempt though!!! She slept through the whole thing again. Bummer:( We will try again next year! Christmas

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. It was so much fun with Kaitlyn because she is now old enough to understand Santa and different things about Christmas. It was fun to watch her excitement!

Christmas Eve:

Saturday night we had a family party at my parents house. We had a yummy ham and turkey dinner and then my parents gave us a little lesson. After the lesson my sister put together a scavenger hunt for us. It was so much fun!!! We drove all over Sandy/Draper area looking for clues. My oldest sister and brother in law were on our team. It was so fun to get out with everyone! We came in 3rd place, but later found out that it was really 2nd because my sister and her family didn't go to one of the stops. When we got back the kids did a gift exchange and we had dessert. My parents gave everyone a game and treats so we can have a family game night with our own families!

Then we went upstairs and had the kids open there Christmas eve present, which was pajamas..tradition every year!

After we got Logan to bed we let Kaitlyn help put out a plate of cookies and milk for Santa. Oh and carrots for the reindeer!!

Then we got her to bed and got everything ready for Christmas!

Christmas Day:

The kids woke up about 7:30. We all came into our room and read from Luke 2, which is a tradition to start out Christmas Day.

When we got done, we all went into the front room to see if Santa came. He sure did!!!

Kaitlyn got: a Tiana doll, snowclothes & boots, shirts and pants, shoes, underwear, books, Smurfs movie, the princess tutu I made her and a wand, pink slippers, Hungry Hungry Hippos, rings and lipgloss, and all the stuff pictured above from Santa

Logan got: lots of matchbox cars (We filled a wheel storage container for them full of cars, Dave's old dump truck when he was little, clothes, snowclothes and boots, books, Cars 2 movie, green lantern action figure and the stuff pictured above from Santa

Dave got: tools, a tool box organization container, Captain America movie, a tie, and his all time favorite gift..the double cut saw from Santa!! Plus the stuff pictured from Santa.

Jill got: a pink tool box with lots of tools, a few other tools, craft paper, plastic boards that I can make my own stencils out of using my cricut, workout clothes, slippers, Thor Movie, The Help movie, Dave and Kaitlyn etched a sign in a mirror that says, "With God all things are possible." and it had the Salt Lake Temple on it too...love it!!, and 7 pairs of fresh water pearl earrings in different colors and the things pictured above from Santa.

Family Gift: A 3D Blueray DVD player and Karate Kid.

After we opened presents we had a nice breakfast burritos breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice...a Christmas tradition!! Yum!! Then the kids played around with their new toys.

After that Dave and Logan went to sleep. Logan for his nap and Dave had to because he worked Sunday night. Kaitlyn and I then went to church. They just had sacrament meeting. It was really nice. When we got home we woke the boys up and went over to Dave's parents house.

We opened presents from them. We were totally spoiled over there!

The kids got a few toys, coloring book and crayons, books, Dave got some tools, and I got an organization calendar for 2012, a family statue that says Families are Forever. Our family got some ornaments, and a pretty photo album with lots of pictures.

Then we had a yummy turkey dinner with potatoes, fruit salad, and veggies. When we got done, Kaitlyn played with her playdough, Logan played with his cars and his parents and us played games the rest of the afternoon!! It was so much fun! When we got home we put in a movie, popped some popcorn and relaxed!!

Family Fun Day

This past Wednesday we decided to make it a family fun day!! Dave's mom had called us the week before to see if we wanted to go to the Aquarium in the morning so that started it off. We had a blast with her and my niece Jocelynn.

When we first got to the Penguins they kids were getting fussy so we went over the the little restaurant they have in there and Grandma bought them a snack. Then we went back to the Penguins and they were feeding them! It was fun to watch.

After we got done looking at the animals, Grandma stopped at the store and bought all the kids a gift! Kaitlyn got a clock puzzle.

After that we went and got lunch at Village Inn. Thanks again Mom for such a fun time!! It was so good to get out for awhile!!

When we got home Logan went down for a nap and Dave, Kaitlyn and I watched the Polar Express. Love that movie!!

Later that night we were going to go down to Temple Square with my parents to see the lights, but we saw that is was going to be snowy so we decided to go to Thanksgiving Point and drive by the lights. We have never done this before. It was so fun!! They have so many different lights. Here are a few pictures from that...

Ward Christmas Party

Our ward Christmas Party was a few weeks ago. I totally forgot to post about this!! It was such a fun night!! Dave had to work so the kids and I went with my parents. We started out eating soup, salads and breadsticks. We had a fun time visiting with other people. Then they had a little program. Two men in our ward, who are both really good musicians, sang a few songs for us. My kids loved dancing to the music!! Actually they were the only ones up front dancing!! So cute! Then Santa came to see all of the kids!! Kaitlyn was not too sure about him, although she really is getting into the spirit of it this year!! Here are a few pictures from the night...

Goodbye Party

Last Saturday we had a Farewell Party for my brother and his cute wife. My brother graduated from ATC School (Air Traffic Control) in 2009. He has been patiently waiting ever since to get a job at an airport. He finally got hired a few months ago but had to do some more waiting. He has to take a training class in Oklahoma for 2 months before he could start working. He was finally able to get into a class starting on Dec. 22, so tomorrow! After he is done with this class they will be moving right to Burbank, California. He is going to be working at the Burbank airport.

All of my family came to the party, except for my oldest sister and her husband. They had just got back into town and were busy getting stuff done at home. We had a nice dinner with soup, salads, and breadsticks. We just had a fun night talking with everyone!

Kaitlyn's Christmas Gifts & Thank You Treats

Kaitlyn wanted to give her preschool class and teacher a gift for Christmas this year. We had so much fun coming up with ideas. She loved being able to help me make them and put them together.

Here she is as we are leaving for Preschool...

For her class we gave each kid 3 candy canes. Here is what they looked like...

She gave them their treats last Thursday, her last day of class. They loved them!!

For her teacher we wanted to do something special. I came up with making her a Crayon Wreath. Kaitlyn loved helping make this one!! You can read more about how to make it over on my crafting Blog. I will have the post up next week! So keep an eye out for it!! Here is what it looked like all done...

She absolutely loved it!! She said she had never seen anything like it before!! I was excited to hear that!

Kaitlyn was so funny when we walked into her classroom. She walked over to her teacher and gave her the bag that had the Candy Canes in it for her class. Her teacher thought it was for her. I told her no and that the one I had was for her. Kaitlyn took it from me and gave it to her and decided that she needed to open it for her! I was a little embarrassed! Her teacher kept saying I will open it later, but Kaitlyn was not listening! Oh well!! It was cute to see her so excited to show Mrs. Hammer what we made for her!

Yesterday was Kaitlyn's last Sunday in Nursery:( I can't believe that she is going to be in Primary. It just kills me that she is growing up so fast!! She wanted to give her teachers a Thank You treat. We decided to give them cookies. She definitely helped me make them!! She loves to help in the kitchen.

Reindeer Mat

Kaitlyn came home from preschool on Tuesday with a present for us that she had made.

It is the cutest Reindeer Mat. They got to paint it using there feet, hands and thumbprints. She actually told me about it the Thursday before. I didn't realize that it was a mat though!! Super Cute! She was so proud of her work!

Santa's Letter

We decided it would be fun this year for Kaitlyn to write a letter to Santa. Dave found this awesome app on his iPad to do that. Santa even wrote back to her a few hours later! It was so fun to watch her get excited about hearing back from Santa!!

Here was her letter to Santa:

Dear Santa,

i am a little girl who is trying to be good. This year for Christmas I would like the new Smurf's Movie, pink playdough, pink scissors, pink hammer, pink shirt, snow clothes, pink slippers, new shoes, princess books, tiana princess doll, games for inside, alligator, dress up clothes, and a bike. Santa I know your busy so any of it that you can bring me would be great. Thank you for being so generous and loving to all the good girls and boys.

Notice that everything is pink!!! Here favorite color! And the alligator is because when we went to the Zoo this year she got an alligator juice bottle. We have kept it for her to keep reusing and now she wants a pink one!

What a nice letter you wrote to me! I've asked Mrs. Claus to pin it up. I have been very busy over the last few months, there are so many presents to sort out. But tonight is a night off. Lucky me! {26th} Birthday

Last Saturday was my birthday and I turned 26!! For some reason I was not too happy for this birthday. I am now on the down hill to 30, which is making me feel old. Its also weird for me to think that my hubby is 31. Ya, there is a few years difference between us:) But the fact is I did turn 26.

I am truly grateful for what the Lord has blessed me with. I am so many things to be thankful for. I have been blessed to be married to my best friend. I love him with all of my heart.

I have also been blessed to be a mother to my two beautiful kids. They are the best kids in the world!!

My Birthday: We started the day out at my niece Madelyn's baptism. This is my second niece that has been baptized on my birthday. My oldest niece, Breanna, was baptized 6 years ago on my birthday. I feel special to to able to share that day with them. After the baptism we went to the Hidden Valley Country Club for a nice brunch. It was very yummy. Then we came home. When we got home I relaxed and watched a movie by myself for a little while. Then I made some carmel popcorn. (I will be posting the recipe on my crafting blog tomorrow. It is super YUMMY!!) I had been craving it all week and decided that I wanted to wait until my birthday to have it. Dave, Kaitlyn, my parents and I all sat around for the next while eating it and watching a Christmas Movie. Then at 3:30 Dave and I left. He surprised me with a movie and dinner!! We went and saw Jonny English Reborn. It is a must see!! It was super funny and had a cute love story with it! After the movie we grabbed dinner at Wendy's and went home and ate it. Then we had cake and ice cream.

It was a super fun and relaxing day, which is just what I needed.

My 26th year is in store for many wonderful things...I can feel it!!!!!

Meeting an Apostle of the Lord

Today at church we had a special Stake Conference. We had the regional Stake Conference a couple of months ago so when they announced this special Stake Conference there was a lot of speculation as to why we were going to have this. They also told us that there would be an apostle there, Elder D. Todd Christofferson. Our Stake Presidency has been in 8 years so many people thought they were going to be doing some change with that.

We went to the meeting today and a Special Stake Conference it was. There were no changes made. When Elder Christoffereson got up to speak he told us that there was a big Conference yesterday with many Bishoprics, Stake Presidencies and other priesthood authorities from Sandy. He was at this conference yesterday and President Monson told them to choose one Stake that attended this meeting and hold a Conference with this Stake. He chose to be with us!

I was very touched by all who spoke. Our Stake President, Pres. Dahl, spoke first and he talked about having JOY in our lives. Not the temporal Joy, but spiritual Joy. How we need to have Christ in our lives every single day.

Then one of my old Young Woman's Presidents spoke who I just love, Sandi Martin. She is the current Young Woman's President of Special needs mutal. She told a story about how in a house they lived in years ago had a pool. One year when they were getting it ready for the summer she told her 3 oldest boys whoever jumped in first would get a $5.00 bill. The water was 50 degrees. Her oldest son won it. She said he was out of it faster then when he got in because it was so cold. The next year she did this again and her oldest son didn't participate! The second oldest got it that year. The next year she chose not to do it so her oldest son did and the 3rd son was the only one out by the pool. She was watching out the window at him because she never heard a splash. He was swinging by the rail of the pool and would touch his toes in and come back and he kept doing that. She finally went out and talked to him. She said, "You are supposed to jump in and swim." He said, "Mom I am swimming. I am just not going to get wet!" She related this to our callings. Are we swimming, but not getting wet in our callings? How committed are we to them.

The next person who spoke was the President of the Draper Temple, Russell Tueller. He told of many experiences he has had in the temple. One being that David Archuleta has done work there and how pleased he was with him. He also told of a young single adult that has come faithfully every week to the temple to do baptisms. She is in a wheel chair. Her legs are very short and he told us how she would get in and out of the font all by herself. She would just use her hands to move around. That touched me deeply. How I should be in the temple more often.

Then Elder D. Todd Christofferson spoke. My kids were getting very restless by this point so I only heard bits and pieces of it, which I feel extremely sad about. One thing that stood out to me was out we need to get back to the basics and have Christ be the center of our lives. We shouldn't be putting him to the side and letting other things in life taking over. He ended the meeting at 11:45 because he wanted to shake hands with all those who wanted to. So my family and I all waited in line and had the opportunity to shake his hand. How Amazing that was to be able to touch hands with an apostle of the Lord. Dave, Logan and I all shook his hand. Kaitlyn was being shy and didn't want to. I will never forget today. It was AMAZING!!!

Family Flu Bug

**DISCRETION if you don't like reading about the flu this post is not for you! I just had to document about this for a remembrance because it was crazy!**

At 2:30 AM Saturday morning I woke up to one of the kids crying. I thought it was Logan, but as I was trying to fully wake up I realized it was Kaitlyn. I stumbled into her room and only knew what I was going to find by the smell. I walked over to her bed and looked at her and she said, "Mommy, I have a problem." It was so cute, but so sad at the same time. This was her very first time getting the flu!! I can't believe we lucked out for 3 and 1/2 years with that! So she really had no clue what just happened to her. I got her in the bath tub and got everything all cleaned up. Logan of course had woken up from her crying and was so good while I cleaned up. Towards the end he got fussy so I got him a bottle, but he just threw it down and kept crying. I got Kaitlyn out of the tub and back to bed.

Logan was still having a fit so I took him out and tried to calm him down. Finally at 4:15 AM he fell asleep in my arms so I put him in bed and I went back to sleep. As I laid back down I came to realized that I wasn't feeling too well. I was feeling really nauseous. I figured it was from having to clean everything up from Kaitlyn and was hoping to feel better after I got some more sleep. Dave and I had talked long before this that this was going to be his department to clean up! He has dealt with this and much worse at work many times and I don't do to well with it, but he just happened to be working this night:(

The kids woke up at 7:00 AM. Kaitlyn was still throwing up so I laid her on the couch with a bowl next to her...which she was SO AWESOME to use! I couldn't find Logan at this point so I called his name out and walked around looking for him. He started crying so I knew where he was now. He was playing under Kaitlyn's bed. When I went to grab him I realized that he had thrown up!!! AHH!!! I moved him out into the hallway and as I was cleaning that up, he threw up again!! At this point I am feeling more nauseous than ever. Dave finally got off work and called me to see how things were going. I told him the bad news. He told me that he might be able to get work off Saturday night so he could help me. I told him lets hold off for now. Then we hung up. A few minutes later after Kaitlyn throwing up again, I called him back and asked if he could try taking work off. He couldn't do anything until he got home.

He stopped at the store on his way home and got us some saltines and ginger ale. When he got home he was able to take work off. THANK GOODNESS!!! Because shortly after he got home I started throwing up!!! I seriously couldn't believe that we all got this bug within a few hours of each other! It was so nice to be able to stay in bed and have Dave be watching the kids for me all day Saturday. Later Saturday night, Kaitlyn and Logan were feeling much better. Kaitlyn more then Logan. I was feeling a little better, but not 100%.

By Sunday morning Kaitlyn and I were totally better. Logan was still being fussy..he is also getting molars in so I am not sure if he was still sick with the flu or with just teething. So I left him home with Dave while Kaitlyn and I went to my cousins homecoming.

Dave had to work Sunday night so at 6:15 PM he left for work. At 9:00PM he called me and told me that he had gotten called off of work!!! This has never happened before. They were so extremely slow that they didn't need all the HCA'S that were there so they sent him and another guy home. The other guy ended up being called to a different department so it was just Dave that got to go home. It was definitely a HUGE blessing because at 3:30 AM he woke up throwing up! He has been sick ever since. I am not sure why the kids and I are all better and he is not. I hope he can get over this soon!! The crazy thing it...he has even had the flu shot this year. The kids and I have not!! I swear you get more sick if you have it then if you don't!! I don't think I will be getting one ever again! I had one last year and I seriously was sick almost every couple of weeks without fail!!

I hope we all stay better for a long time!!!!

Good Deed Friday!!

Dave didn't have to work Thursday night but he had to work Friday night so he stayed up all night Thursday to stay on his schedule. We decided to be CRAZY and go Black Friday Shopping at 2:00am early Friday morning. So he woke me up and we headed to Wal-mart. We didn't want to go when the store opened so we waited a bit. It was so nice. There were still quite a bit of people there, but it was not too bad and we were able to get in on some good deals still.

One thing I needed to buy were some clear cellophane bags for our family Christmas present that we are giving to family and friends this year. I needed them for Saturday for some of our family members. The Wal-Mart we went to was out. Bummer. So I asked Dave if we could stop by the Wal-Mart by our house in Draper. He was a little hesitant but agreed to stop there so I could see if they had them. Of course they didn't either. Bummer. Now what to do. We started leaving the parking lot and Dave turned in by the strip mall by Cafe Trang. I looked at him and asked him what in the world he was doing. He then started turning the car around and said that he thought he saw a wallet in the parking lot. Come to found out he did! Good eye honey!

He picked up the wallet and we start looking through it to see what information we could find to get a hold of the lady. The first thing I saw when I opened it up was not only 1 but 2 social security cards. Hers and her husbands!! That is a little scary! Then we starting looking at more things and come to find out she is not a U.S. citizen. She is from Canada. We could not find anything with local information on it. She did have a Costco Card and a Salt Lake County Library card. So we thought maybe we could find something from the library's website.

We decided to head home to see what we could do there. When we got home I decided to pull out the social security cards and I found a business card that had a local number on it. We called it at is was not for the same person. Awesome. Dave decided to look on the library's website and he couldn't get anything there. So Dave then decided to look them up in the phone book online since we knew her and her husbands name. What would you know...they were right in there!! Come to find out they just live up the street on Wasatch and we were able to get a local number for them. Dave called the number and left a message...at this time it was 4:15 in the morning. We finally got a hold of her later in the morning and she came and got it. She was extremely grateful and told us that she was moving to Canada in 2 days. She gave us a $10.00 reward for finding it. We refused to take it but she insisted that we do and said, "I am moving to Canada... your money is no good to me now!"

And it all worked out in the end with the cellophane bags because my mom had a ton on hand from young womens and was excited for me to use them so she could start getting rid of them!!! All in all I just know that things were meant to work out the way they did so we could help that lady out! I am so grateful for the blessings in life and that we get opportunity's to serve one another!

Thanksgiving 2011

We started the day out going to an early morning breakfast at Dave's parents house. We had eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. It was delicious! Then we relaxed a bit and went out to Dave's brothers house for Thanksgiving dinner. We all drove together, which was super nice. We had a yummy turkey dinner. Dave's sister cooked the turkey this year. She did an awesome job! After dinner we relaxed and talked while the kids played. Dave did take a few naps here and there since he worked the night before. Logan playing with his cousin Joanna. The funny thing is she is 18 months old, so 6 months older then Logan and she is smaller then Logan. There are 3 one year olds in the family and my son is the youngest and the biggest of them all!

When we got home we all took naps. That's the best thing of Thanksgiving day! When we got up the kids had suckers. This was Logan's first time eating a sucker all by himself!!

Of course he LOVED it!!!

That night my sister and her family came over to my parents so we all sat around and talked while the kids played.

Logan {Walking}

I can't believe that my baby is walking!!!! I guess that means he is not so much a baby anymore, but a toddler:( I am so happy for him and so sad at the same time. I just makes it real that those caring for baby days of him are over.

He started walking around his birthday. He started taking a few steps 1 week before he turned 1. Right before his birthday he was walking a little more, but still crawling. 2 days after his birthday he was a walking machine!!! He has not crawled for awhile now!! It is so fun to watch him.

Kaitlyn's Princess Bed

We bought Kaitlyn a super cute Princess bed at RC Willey a couple of weeks ago. We had 2 gift cards that we had to use up before they expired so we ended up deciding to get her this bed.

She is in LOVE with it!! Anyone that comes to the house has to see her bed because she insists they do. Logan and her love playing on it. They slide all day long on it and love to play under it. Logan figured out how to climb up the slide so they also play on top of the bed too!!

We went up to the University of Utah and had some family pictures done. It got to be really cold because the sun was going down so a few days later we went back down to the Salt Lake Library and got a few more done. I absolutely love how they turned out! Logan's 1st Birthday

Logan had such a fun 1st birthday!! On Friday the 11th we went to McDonald's for his birthday lunch. Dave had to work Saturday night of his birthday so we celebrated on Friday and a little Saturday so Dave could be with us.

Logan loved the apples and chicken nuggets.

That night we had a family birthday party for him. It was "Cars" themed. We had fun playing around, opening presents, eating cake and ice cream and most of all just talking!! Here are a few pictures from his party.

Saturday the 12th...Happy Birthday Logan!!

We all slept in and had a lazy morning. It was nice that the kids slept in for me:) Then we had a nice eggs, bacon, and cinnamon roll breakfast. After breakfast Kaitlyn and I played with Logan and his new cars. Dave had to work that night so he slept in until about 1:00.

When we got daddy up we all played together.

We then had him open a few more presents from us.

Saturday night Dave had to work like I said above. So the kids and I had a little party. We had leftover cake and ice cream from the party. We popped popcorn and played in the kids room on Kaitlyn's new bed (I will post better pictures of it later) and then we had a sleepover!! I slept in Kaitlyn's bed with her. It wasn't too bad actually. I figured out from that night that my kids are extremely noisy sleepers. Logan cried out a few times and kicked his crib and Kaitlyn moaned out and kicked the wall. Beside me waking up to that during the night we all slept great!!

I still can't believe my baby is 1!! How time flies so fast!!!

Happy First Birthday Logan!

Isn't he just the CUTEST thing?!?!

We love you so much and are so glad you joined our family!! You have brought so much joy to us and a special spirit that we love so much!!

I just wanted to jot down a couple of things about him:

-He is walking more and more each day!! He still crawls quite a bit though because he can get places faster

-He is not a huge fan of chicken and ground beef. He always spits them out when I give them to him

-He loves Mac & Cheese, bananas, veggies and ham

-He is saying a couple of words: uh-oh, dada and bye

-He loves to clap

-He loves to play with his big sister

-He is definitely a boy and already tough!! Kaitlyn loves to "wrestle" with him and most of the time he doesn't cry...just laughs!

-He loves to play with cars and balls.

-He smiles all the time!!

New Camera {Depth Perception}

Two weeks ago before it snowed I went outside and wanted to play with the depth perception on my new camera. I wanted to play with things in the back of the picture being blurry verses the front of the things in the picture being blurry. I think they turned out so pretty with all the fall colors!! Oh and don't mind the big power pole in the picture. My next big thing is to learn on photoshop how to get rid of it!! I can't wait:)

The Dollar Bill

We have done something new with Kaitlyn the last few weeks. I wrote about it on my crafting blog so you can read more about it here. It has been working so well for us and for her!!

A few weeks ago, Dave and I had a date night. Dave told Kaitlyn that if she was really good for Grandma while we were gone and listened to her the whole night he would give her a dollar!!! She thought that was the coolest thing ever since she has just been getting coins. When we picked her up she told Daddy that she was really good so she earned the dollar. When we got home Daddy gave it to her.

I just had to document this because this is her VERY FIRST time getting a dollar bill from daddy and it DEFINITELY won't be the last!!

Halloween Festivities

I am just a little behind on my family blogging. My craft blog has kind of taken over the last little bit so that's why I am just getting Halloween pictures up!!

We had a fabulous Halloween weekend this year. It is so fun to have kids of my own and watch them get so excited for Halloween. Kaitlyn was SO into this year. It brought so much joy to Dave and I!! This year the kids were "The Princess & The Frog!!" I went to Costco awhile ago and saw that they had lots of Princess costumes. I looked through them all, really wanting to get Belle but they were out of her size, and settled for Princess Tiana. She is into a few of them right now so any of those would do for her. Then my mom had a fabulous idea of having Logan be the frog!! So we went with that.

Kaitlyn got good use out of her costume this year. Starting on Thursday Oct. 27. She had a Halloween Party at school. Here is a picture of her just before leaving for school in her Tiana costume.

She is so photogenic. I love it!!

Friday night, we went with Dave's mom to their ward Trunk or Treat. Kaitlyn loved getting candy!! Here are a few pictures from that...

Kaitlyn and Logan were both not sure what to think of Grandma!! She looked so different with the wig on. When we pulled up to their house she was outside and Kaitlyn said, "Who is that Mommy?!?"

After the trunk or treat we went inside and had some chili. Kaitlyn took my hat and tried it on.. So stinkin cute!!!

Saturday morning when Dave got home from work we carved pumpkins. I though Kaitlyn would get into it and have fun helping us, but she really didn't. We were able to get her to help pull the seeds out a couple of times, but that was it:( May be next year!!

Dave had the greatest idea that we use my cricut to cut out the patterns for them and trace them on that way. It worked out so good!!!

Then of course we took the kids Trick or Treating on Monday night. Kaitlyn had such a blast!! She ran from one house to the next most of night. She was so excited about it. She was really good to say "Trick or Treat." She would say it quietly though because she is a little shy. The cutest part was right after she got really loud and said, "We need some for Logan too!!!" She did not want anyone to forget her brother!! I loved that she was watching out for him!

Our Princess and The Frog!!! Ok, so Logan was having a rough time while we were getting pictures. And he really did not like having the hood on!

There were a few houses this year that had the candy sitting on the porch. Here is Kaitlyn at one of them.

After we got done Trick or Treating around our house, we went Trick or Treating to Grandma and Grandpa Schroeder's house so they could see the kids.

Logan {Discovering Balls}

The past few weeks Logan has discovered balls and is trying to figure out how to use them! It is so cute to watch him. He loves to bounce them, watch them roll and then chase after them. He has come to love them!

Fall Canyon Drive & LaCaille Pictures

On Sunday October 16 we went for a family drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. On the way home we stopped at LaCaille to get some more pictures. We wanted to get out and see the fall colors before they were gone. Down lower on the mountains there were some pretty colors. We can see most of them from the valley. Up higher though...most of the leaves had fallen:( We still got to see some colors here and there. It was raining most of the day and cloudy. Which was the weather on the way up. On our way back the sun came out. I was able to get some really fun shots of both with cloudy and sunny weather.

I thought this one turned out so cool. Its kind of hard to see here but if it is blown up bigger you can really see it. It totally looks like it was PAINTED!! I took it from the car window as we were driving. The leaves went blurry but nothing else in it did! I love it!!!!

A Cape? Really?!?

Dave bought a new clipper set because I ruined the other one. It was so nice to have a good one again to cut his hair. After I cut Logan's hair for the first time, I cut Dave's hair. We pulled everything out of it to set it up. We pulled the cape out and this is what we saw...

I mean really?!? It barely came past his chest. Crazy!! I am not a professional hair stylist. My mom is one and did hair while I was growing up. I don't remember a cape being this short. Aren't hair capes usually LONG??

Of course Dave's sense of humor immediately came out

The Broom

I was vacuuming and sweeping the house 2 weeks ago. When I got done I put everything away. Apparently Logan didn't think I was done!!

He discovered where we put the broom in the laundry room. He pulled it down and crawled into the dining room with it!! Silly Boy!!

Family Time at the Zoo

Saturday October 15 was Dave's last day on Fall Break. We both agreed that we would do stuff together that day just as a family. We decided to go to the Hogle Zoo. We had so much fun. We have been there many times with Dave's Mom and family, but haven't been there forever with just our family. We went in the early afternoon and decided to have a picnic on the grass there.

Kaitlyn got apple juice to drink and apparently this bee could smell it. He crawled around forever on the lid. I got lots of cool shots of him with my new camera. Here is one of them.

After we finished lunch we went and looked at the animals. Here are a few pictures of them.

I thought it was so cute that the family was eating together! I have never seen them right by each other!!

Logan's BIG Weekend

Two weekends ago Logan had some big changes that came to him.

The first one was...HE GOT HIS FIRST HAIRCUT!!!! I definitely knew it was time. He is 11 months and his hair was just getting too long. I put it off for awhile because I was nervous to give him one. I cut Dave's hair, but was just not ready to be cutting a baby's hair. I also didn't know what was the best way to cut it, with the clippers or the scissors. I talked to my Mom about it because she cuts hair and she said, "I wouldn't use the clippers because baby's are usually scared of the noise. You will probably want to use the scissors." I was even more nervous because I am not a pro and wasn't ready to be cutting his hair with scissors.

I finally buckled down Friday night and wanted to get it done. We put him in his high chair and gave him some animal crackers. Dave sat in front of him to entertain him and hold his hands.

I decided to try first with the clippers and if he really did not like it I would move to the scissors.

He totally didn't mind them at all!!! He was actually laughing! It was so cute!

After I got done with the clippers I needed to use the scissors to cut the hair around his ears. The minuted I touched his head he started crying! He didn't like the scissors at all!!! I was amazed because I thought like my mom it might be the other way around. I don't have any pictures with using the scissors. Sorry!

He was so good through the whole thing though!! I am so proud of him! My mom was completely amazed at how well he did!!

Just so you can see how long it was getting. Here is a before picture. This was taken just a couple days before we gave him his haircut.

Such a little STUD!!

The second big change that happened to him was MOVING HIM INTO AN UPRIGHT CAR SEAT. I was really happy about the change! I was so tired of carrying him in the infant one. He was getting so heavy! We weighed him and he was almost 26 pounds. He is also super tall for his age so we knew that it was now time to make the switch!

He loved so much being able to see us and see out the window! He also loved being able to watch the movie that we have put on for Kaitlyn many times and he has not been able to see it!!

He was also clapping! I do think he was excited too!

New Camera Pictures

By all means I am not a professional photographer, but I have taken many pictures trying to figure out my new camera! It has been so fun! Our friend that Dave bought it from came over last Thursday to help me figure it out and he gave me great tips on how to take pictures. Daddy Daughter Time

With Dave being in school this semester and working graveyard shifts we really haven't gotten to see him much. When he is around for a little bit I definitely can tell that Kaitlyn has missed him. She is his shadow the whole time he is around. A couple of weekends ago Dave wanted to get all his homework done so he wouldn't have much to do during Fall Break so he spent a lot of time on the computer in our room. After not being able to find Kaitlyn I came in the room and saw this...

Dave was doing his homework and Kaitlyn came and laid down next to him and played games on my phone!! So cute!

"If the Shoe fits!"

Many of you will probably laugh at this post, but it was something that made me very happy. Ever since Dave and I got married our shoes have never been in the same closet. When we first got married we lived with my Grandma and the closet in the room we were in was small so Dave being the sweet husband that he is let me have that closet and he took the one out in the family room. It still had a bar to hang clothes. Kind of weird that it is in the family room, but that's what my Grandparents wanted I guess! He was actually working for Albertson's at the time as the receiver so he had to be to work by 6 AM. He was the one that chose to put his clothes and shoes out there because that way he wouldn't wake me up at 4:30 AM when he was getting ready. I thank him for that a lot!! Then a year and a half ago we moved in with my parents and because of the shoe feddish I have there was no room in the closet for Dave's shoes. He said he would put his under the bed. Again being the sweet hubby that he is!

As you know Dave is going to school at the U of U and they had Fall Break last week. While he was off from school he built a shoe rack/shelf for our shoes so they would be more organized and MAYBE we could fit his in!! Well this was the result...

It worked!! BOTH of our shoes are in the same closet for the first time! It was funny how happy it made me! I absolutely love it. It makes them much more organized and we actually can use up the space in the closet!! (There was much wasted space between the bottom of the clothes and the top of the shoes)

Fire Station Field Trip

Kaitlyn's preschool has a field trip once a month. I think it is so fun for the kids!! Her teacher has a new theme for each month too. This month is people helping other people. So last week we went to the fire station on 9000 South 150 East so the kids could learn about how firefighters help other people.

It was really fun for the kids. They taught them about fire and how they need to have an adult help them if they see a match or a candle going. They taught them how to stop, drop and roll if they were in a fire. They also had puppets that sang songs about fire for the kids. That was really cute. I think the kids loved it!! I know Logan did! This was his first time going with us and he was super good! His eyes were fixed on the puppets every time they came out! They also had a firefighter come out and put all his gear on for the kids. He also turned his oxygen on and talked to the kids. I never have seen or heard this but it makes them sound so funny!!

After that they let the kids go up and see the fire trucks and sit in them if they wanted to. My miss Kaitlyn refused to sit inside. I barely even got her to sit on the front bumper. She wasn't happy about it. As you can see here.

When we first got up by the trucks they had this cute wood fire truck for the kids to poke their heads out. Kaitlyn was able to drive the truck!!

They also gave the kids a hat and a sticker!

As we were finishing up they had an emergency call come in so the kids were able to watch them leave. Kaitlyn loved that the most. She still talks about it!

HAHA!!! Ok so its really not for sale anymore!

I want to start by telling you a little about how the car got to this point. Dave's parents bought it a few years ago and it worked for them for a little while. It then broke down and Dave was so busy that he never had time to really fix it for them. It sat in their driveway for a long time. They eventually got a new LR3.

Dave and I had 2 cars last year. We had our Discovery and an Audi. When Dave went back to school and became a CNA we could no longer afford 2 cars so we sold the Audi to my sister and brother in law. Well we really needed 2 cars so his sweet parents just gave us this car!! Dave fixed it up and it worked ok for us for a few months. Dave could never get it all the way fixed but it was still drivable. Then one day it just gave up! I can't remember really what was wrong with it but we could no longer drive it. So the handy man that my hubby is took the whole car apart as you can see. I still can't even begin to understand how he knew how to take it apart. I am just so lost when it comes to cars! We made lots of money off that thing by selling a lot of parts off of it. We still have lots of parts to sell too!! But on Friday Dave towed it down to the metal recycling place to get money for the metal. There scale just happened to be broken so we still don't know how much we will get but I hope its a good amount!!

A quick funny story...Dave called me after he had dropped it off to the recycling place and told me that just as he pulled into their place the metal totally broke off where he had done a make shift tow strap for it!! How lucky was that?!? I was so thankful that didn't come off on the freeway! Luckily the people there got their fork lift out and towed it back to where it needed to be!

Logan {11 months}

I can't even believe it but next month my little baby will be 1!!! Crazy how fast time has gone. I swear now that I have 2 kids it goes by even faster. Is that true for anyone else?? Logan turned 11 months old 2 days ago. He is getting to be such a big boy. I definitely think the baby is starting to leave him. Sad day for me:( But I do love him and how much he is learning now. He is so fun and makes me laugh all the time.

Some things about him:

-He just learned to clap

-He stands up, but only holding onto things. He hasn't quite got his balance all on his own yet

-He walks around and is getting really fast at it, but again only holding on to things. Yesterday we had him hold onto Kaitlyn's doll stroller and gave him a little push and he walked around all over the place just holding onto that!

-We are kind of between the 2 to 1 nap a day right now. A couple of days this week I had him only take one nap. It was a little hard because he was really cranky in the morning because I held him off and then he got cranky again later in the evening. But the nice thing was he went right to sleep when I put him down at night. If he gets 2 naps which I have done a couple of days it takes him forever to fall asleep for his afternoon nap and that makes it so he doesn't wake up until later and then he won't go to sleep at night when I put him down. So we are still kind of between for now. Just trying to see what will work best for him.

-He still adores his sister. They play all the time. I hear them laughing together many times during the day. I just love to hear it!!

- He eats everything we eat and he loves being a "big" boy that way.

- He has found his voice and is "talking" all the time

-He loves to click his tongue.

My parents couches in their front room are really old and they are hoping to replace them soon so they said the kids could just have fun with them. They love to pull the cushions off the jump on the couch. Logan especially loves that because he can climb up there all by himself!!

Halloween in the Air

When I went to pick Kaitlyn up from preschool today she showed me that she had made a cute pumpkin!! When I saw that it really made me get in the mood for Halloween!!

She is so excited for Halloween!! A few months ago I was at Costco and saw some princess costumes. We didn't ever talk to her about what she wanted to be, but I knew that she would love to be a princess. She is getting into them so much right now. She was at school when I was there so I couldn't ask her, but I chose for her. She is really into Belle, Cinderella and Tiana right now. I decided to go with the Tiana Costume. She talks about it every day!! I think she is just a little excited and is "counting" down the days to when she gets to wear it!! I am especially excited because Logan is going to be a Frog. Now we got both The Princess and the Frog!! I can't wait until Halloween:)

Little {miss} Helper

After we got done with dinner tonight, my Mom and I cleaned up and did the dishes. Right before we finished up I needed to feed Logan his dinner. I sat with him and fed him. While I was with Logan, Kaitlyn felt the need to help with the dishes. I knew that she had grabbed a bucket to use as a stool so she could reach the sink. I thought it was so cute so I just let her "play" while I fed Logan. While she was working she said, "Mommy I am fixing up the house." So Sweet!

After I got done feeding Logan I walked into the kitchen and realized she no longer was standing on a bucket. This is what I found...

I honestly didn't even know she had grabbed it from the laundry room. Apparently I was really focused on Logan!! Super Cute Though!!! I love my little helper!

Surprise, Surprise!!!

Dave was gone all day Saturday at his parents house. As in 7:30 in the morning until 6:30 at night. He had a full day off and when that happens he is usually over there getting all his projects done that are waiting for him. When he got home he had the first surprise for me...Arby's for dinner. I have not had fast food in FOREVER because of trying to lose weight. It was a nice reward for my 50 pound loss. I was busy working on a craft all day and trying to take care of the kids so it was nice not having to cook dinner. After dinner he went into our bedroom for awhile and when he came out he had something for me. Guess what it was??? My NEW CAMERA!!! He told me that I had done such a good job getting this far that he wanted to give it to me now. He then said I now get to decided what my new end result reward would be and he gave me a few choices. It was a toss up between a $200.00 shopping spree or a 3 day 2 night getaway with just him. It was extremely hard, but I decided to go with the getaway with him because it is much needed after never getting to see him while he is in school!! Plus I think for me it will give me way more motivation to lose the rest of the weight!

Weight Loss Pictures

I use this as my journal so I am going to be doing a post about my weight loss. If you care to read about it you sure can!

I have now lost 50 pounds!!! It is so exciting and a big milestone for me. But I still have a little ways to go. I have 35 pounds to lose before I get my camera that my hubby bought for me when I reach my goal (he was sweet and upped it 10 pounds!) and then I still have 45 pounds to lose before I get to where I want to be. I really hope I can get there. It is definitely getting much harder. I get very discouraged and down sometimes to think of how much I still have to lose but I just need to take it one day at a time. I know I can get there because I have done this once before when I was in college!!

I want to post some pictures of my weight loss because its hard for me right now to remember where I came from. This way I can see that and help to keep me motivated!!

Weekend Fun

We had a fabulous weekend. I hope you all did too! Saturday Kaitlyn and I made some White Chocolate Chip Carmel Cookies. We had so much fun. These are also my new addiction!!

A few months ago we were at the store and Dave asked me if I needed any chocolate chips for cookies. I said that yes we needed some. So we started looking at all the different chips that they have. I don't know about you, but when I go get chocolate chips I look right for the ones I want and then leave. I have never actually checked everything out that they have. There are so many different kinds of chips now. If you are like me, next time you go to the store you should check out what they have. I am still excited to try the mini Reese's Pieces! So we bought a few different kinds to try. This time I saw that I still had the carmel to use and I thought that the white chocolate chips would be good with that. They are delicious!!!

Sunday night we were actually able to spend some time with Dave. It was much needed for our family. We watched a movie and ate popcorn. I decided to give Logan some and he LOVED it!!! He ate it really well too!

Thankful Thursday

First off I just want to say that I am not trying to complain in any way or sound mushy by this post. It is just truly what I am thankful for today and I wouldn't change my life for anything!

Today I am very grateful for cuddling and having Dave in my bed with me at night. Many of you already know that Dave is going to school and he works graveyards at the University of Utah Hospital. This means that he is very busy and we have completely different schedules. So we don't get to see each other much. Let alone be in the same bed at night. Yes, he has days off but he will only come to bed at night if he has 3 days off in a row, which doesn't happen too often, and he will only be there the first night. That way he can get back on his graveyard schedule so its easier when he has to go back to work. I definitely have taken this for granted for many years but now that I don't have it much I cherish every moment when it comes around. This week Dave got sick so he called in sick to work and then he had last night off and has tonight off so he has actually been in my bed for 3 nights!!!! That has not happened forever! One night he stayed up a little late studying for a test and when he came in to bed I could not go back to sleep. I just had to take in every moment of him having his arm around me. It just gives me a reassurance and makes me feel so good.

Sweet's Candy Factory

Yesterday Kaitlyn had a field trip to Sweet's Candy Factory with her preschool. I was able to go with her. We had so much fun!!

I was a little sad because we were not able to take pictures inside so I will just have to tell you about it instead of seeing it. If you are interested you can read below!

-We first watched a short video about the factory and then had to put hair nets on. The kids loved wearing them! Then our tour guide took us around the factory.

We were able to see:

-where they store all the candy

- watch them chocolate coat the orange sticks (really at the time they were doing wine sticks which I didn't even know they made, but they are just like the orange sticks)

-we watched how they made jelly beans. That was really cool. They spin them in these big pots, I can't remember how long they stay spinning, but they do get 5 coats of powdered sugar put on them. We were abel to try one when that process is over. It just looked like a powdered sugar jelly bean. After they are done here they are sent to the polishing station where they put the hard coat over them that we see in the store.

-We saw them making the salt water taffy. They mix them in huge bowls with the coloring and flavoring. Then they spin it on huge wheels where it becomes taffy and falls into big bins.

-Then we went to where they spin the taffy to make it small like we see when we buy it. I was so amazed by this process. The taffy is in a huge roll, the size is like a small sleeping bag rolled up. They then put it on the roller that stretches it out to a small quarter sized roll. Then the machine wraps them up. Each machine can wrap 450 pieces a minute!!! They gave us a salt water taffy to try. I tired the eggnog one. It was actually really good!

I just seriously can't believe they get the taffy from a small sized sleeping bag rolled up to this. And the cream is still right in the middle!!

-We also got to watch them chocolate coat peanut clusters and package and box them up.

At the end of the tour they gave the kids a package of salt water taffy.

Bath Time

Since Logan is getting to be a big boy I decided it was time to take the infant bather away and let him sit in the big tub. Of course he loved it! He is obsessed with water!! Here is his first time in the big tub...

Growing Kids

I definitely think my kids are growing up way too fast!!! I can't believe how much bigger Kaitlyn is since she started preschool. She is talking so much better and putting more sentences together. She is making me laugh all the time. Today at dinner she said... "Mom I need to eat all this so I can grow big and strong and go to the temple." I love to hear things that she is learning. A few days ago I was putting my makeup on and had my hat by me because I was going to be wearing it. Kaitlyn came in and tried it on. I had to take a picture of her. She looked so cute in it.

I think Logan had a growth spurt this weekend. He looks so much taller and he is starting to loose the baby look. I seems that his face is thinning out a little bit. Sad day. I want my baby back! He is eating everything that we eat now. It took a few days for him to get used to the new textures and wasn't eating very much of what we were eating, but he has not had baby food for a few days now. That is also a sad time. My baby can't grow up this fast :( He has definitely learned to climb on top of a few things. Here is his first time figuring out how to climb on a box at Grandma's house!

Kaitlyn's First Field Trip

Kaitlyn had her first field trip with her preschool class last Monday. I was able to go with her. It was fun for me to see her with her new friends at school. We went to Wheeler Farm. We went on a wagon ride. The kids loved it!

Swimming at Grandma's

Last Friday we went over to Grandma Schroeder's house to swim. The kids had so much fun! Logan absolutely loves the water. He loves to kick and splash in it. Kaitlyn spent most of the time swinging. I think the water was a little cold for her.

My little boy is fearless. I put him on the grass for a little bit because my arms were getting tired and he crawled right over to the pool leaned in and started playing! Luckily he was tall enough to reach but not enough that he would fall in. He spent most of the time doing that. He loved being a Big Boy!

I just love him so much!

I was able to swing with Kaitlyn. This was a big moment for me...In the spring she wanted me to swing with her but I really couldn't fit on the swing. It hurt a lot, BUT I can sit on in comfortably now!! That was a great day for me! Logan got to swing with us too! I held him in my lap and of course he loved it!! He laughed the whole time. I didn't get a picture of that though.

Kaitlyn Being Silly

This past week the kids and I have been playing a lot with my parents tinker toys. We brought them upstairs and have had so much fun creating different things. We have had many laughs together. One day Kaitlyn decided that she was going to dump them all over herself. She kept filling up the bucket and dumping the whole thing on her. It was so cute!

Who is Older?

Logan has a cousin that is 11 days apart from him. This is both a them a week ago at 9 months old. Think you can guess who is older???

You would probably think that it is my son...WRONG!!! She is actually 11 days older then him! It is funny to see them together because my son is a monster next to her. She is actually a little small for her age and Logan is just way too big for his age. At his last doctors appointment the doctor said he had never seen a 9 month old with such big feet. Tell me about it...Logan wears a size 6 shoe!

We watched her the other day and this is the kids playing. They had so much fun playing with Kaitlyn through the glass! (I promise this is on a different day and that my child does have plenty of clothes even though he is in the same outfit!!)

Feeding the Ducks

A couple of weeks ago we went with Dave's Mom to a pond near her house to feed the ducks. Kaitlyn had a BLAST!!

We we started there were just a couple of ducks around us.

By the time we were done there were tons by us! It was fun to see them all flock over when they saw we had bread!

PA School

Dave has been researching for PA School for awhile now. He thought he had read somewhere that you just needed to be enrolled in your prerequisites in order to apply for the program. He has been going to school for a year now and just has ONE class left he has to take as a prereq. That is human anatomy. He enrolled for this semester and then tried to apply for PA school because he thought he was doing everything right! Actually it was WRONG :( You have to have a letter grade for all your prereq's in order to apply for school! We were a little bummed to find that out because there is only one time of the year to apply for school. It has to be done by August 31st and school starts only one time of the year and that is every June. So that means we now have to wait another year to even apply and that also means we have 2 years before we can get into the program. Here's to the waiting game! I just hope time flies really fast!!!!

Bounce Back

Yesterday Dave's cute Mom took us on the Bounce Back to Lagoon!! Kaitlyn was extremely excited! After we went on Saturday she kept talking about going back to the big park with the ferris wheel! She did so much better with the rides yesterday then on Saturday. She finally warmed up to the whole idea. I was super glad!! It was so nice to go on a week day! It was not as crowded so we got through the lines quicker and were able to go on more rides.

You can't even see Kaitlyn in this picture. She is right in front of Dave going down the Log Run. She loved it!!

Her favorite rides yesterday were the Musik Express and the Jumping Dragon. They are very similar. She would put her hands up in the air and would say, "Wee this is so fun!" It was so cute to see her.

Rattle Snake Rapids was closed when we got there. After we went on the Log Run we had lunch there so we were close to it. Right as we were finishing they opened it! We were able to go a couple of times because the line was so short!!

Later in the afternoon we went to Lagoon a Beach again. We spent most of the time in the Lazy River. It was so fun!! Kaitlyn finally got brave and walked around pulling us along. She had a blast!! She could touch almost all the way around. There was a spot that it got a little hard but she would put her feet up and float with us!

We took Kaitlyn on Bombora. This was her first bigger roller coaster. She didn't really like it. I am glad it was short because the whole time she had her head in her lap and was saying this is scary mommy. I felt bad. We thought she might like it more since she was finally warming up to everything!

Kaitlyn fell asleep right at the end of our ride on the ferris wheel. Dave laid her down on the wagon and she was out the rest of the night. She didn't even move her position! Luckily Dave and his Mom went on one more ride and then the park closed so she wasn't there too long. It looked really uncomfortable!

Lagoon

Last Saturday we decided to go to Lagoon. It was our last family fun day before Dave starts school again. Dave's Mom came with us. It was so fun to have her there. We had fun taking Kaitlyn on the rides. This was her first time riding the rides! Here are a few pictures of our day...

This was the very first ride Kaitlyn went on! You can tell she is really enjoying it!! It took her a while to warm up to everything.

I got to go with her on the first 2 seater ride. It went slow at first and she loved that, but then it got faster and she was not so sure.

Mommy and Grandma took her on Rattle Snake Rapids. She actually had a blast. We did get a direct hit from a waterfall. Right after she just had a look of "What just happened" but she liked it a lot. This picture was taken right before we got hit with the waterfall.

Logan spent most of the day in the stroller. This is what he did to stay cool!! I put the cold bottle of water up to his face and he loved it so he kept doing it!

We spent a few hours in the afternoon at Lagoon A Beach. This was definitely Logan's favorite time. I wish I would have gotten more pictures. We spent most of the time on the lazy river. Logan loved splashing in the water and kicking his feet. It was nice for all of us to cool off a little bit too! Logan got hungry while we were there so I got a picture of him eating. He was very happy to be getting fed and to be out of the stroller for a little bit!!

According to Kaitlyn her favorite ride at the park was the Ferris Wheel!! She had so much fun on it. We tired to go on it again before we left, but the line was way to long!

Kaitlyn also loved going on the swings. I went on them twice with her.

I just had to post this picture even though its just Dave and Kaitlyn standing in line. After we found out that we were not going to go on the ferris wheel we decided to take Kaitlyn on the little ferris wheel for the kids...I can't remember the exact name. This was going to be the very last ride and then we were going to leave. After this picture was taken, Kaitlyn only lasted about 10 minutes!! They were about to go on and she fell asleep!! I guess you could say she had a very fun filled day!!

On the way home we decided to stop at The Old Spaghetti Factory to get dinner. It was so yummy!!

We had so much fun just being together as a family and having fun! It was a nice way to end our summer time with Daddy before he starts school again!

3 Year & 9 Month Check Ups

I took the kids to the doctor this morning. Kaitlyn had her 3 year check up and Logan had his 9 month check up.

Here are Kaitlyn's stats:

-Weight: 37 lbs 90%

-Heights: 39.7" 95%

He said she looks great!

She has been such a sweetheart lately. She is starting to help me around the house a little more. She is talking non stop most of the time unless she is around someone new..she is very quiet. She is starting to put longer sentences together. Sometimes it just makes me laugh at the things she is saying. She is asking tons of questions now. I feel like I am playing 20 Questions all day long! She loves to play with Logan. Anytime he goes down for a nap she asks why he has to go down for a nap and then she asks if we can go check on him. She loves to play outside. She is starting to get the hang of riding her tricycle. She is loving preschool. Every time I pick her up she says she wants to go back to school. Her teacher told me the other day that her favorite time is art. She said she will color the longest and she colors the hardest on the paper.

-Weight: 21.6 lbs 60%

-Height: 30.9" Above the Percentage range!!

-Head: 18.3" 80%

The doctor was totally shocked by his height! He said he is extremely tall and that he had never seen such big feet on a 9 month old!! I laughed a little bit! We seriously think our kids must have gotten their height from their grandpas because Dave and I are not really that tall.

I was laughing really hard to find out the my 3 year old was only 8 inches taller than my 9 month old!! Crazy!

Logan is growing up so much!! He just figured out how to stand up to things and is now figuring out that he can move his feet to get from one thing to another!! He is babbling so much. He loves his big sister. He just lights up anytime she comes around him. It is so cute to watch.

We had french toast and strawberries for breakfast the other morning so I decided to let him have in on it. Can't you tell he is happy about that?!?

We gave him some cantaloupe to try. He LOVED it!!!

It Finally Happened

After 3 years of worrying about Kaitlyn coloring on the walls she finally did it :( I thought we were doing so good for her not having done that yet. I kept reminding her that we don't color on the walls and she wouldn't, but over the weekend it happened. I was busy getting ready and Kaitlyn was apparently doing her own thing. Lucky my Mom caught her before it got too bad. She colored the back of the bathroom door and the wall in the hallway.

I definitely had a talk with her and made her clean it up!! We used a magic eraser and it came right off! Thank heavens!! The bad thing was she really enjoyed cleaning it up. I was trying to help her a little bit because she was not scrubbing very hard, but she got mad and said, "Mom, I am supposed to be cleaning it up!!" I just really hope she doesn't do it again just so she can clean it up!

Kaitlyn's First Day of Preschool

Kaitlyn had her very first day of Preschool today!! I was a nervous wreck all morning before taking her. I really thought she was going to have a hard time when I dropped her off. I thought she was going to cry when she saw me leave. I was also nervous how she was going to do the whole time. When I dropped her off her teacher took her and another girl and showed them where there backpacks would go so I said bye and walked away. She didn't seem to notice that I left since her teacher had her preoccupied. When I went to get her I asked her how it was and she said, "Mom I want to go back to school!" After that I knew we were going to be just fine! Her teacher Mrs. Hammer said she did great! I was relieved! She will be going on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-3:00. I think I am going to like this having her in school so I can have a little time to get some things done that I need to!!

Kaitlyn's Hair Cut

Logan's Latest

With Logan getting older and more mobile, he is starting to do more things!! He is starting to kneel up at things. He hasn't figured out how to stand up yet and I am just fine with that!!

Of course with him moving more he is starting to get into things. He favorite thing is to play with the fake grass at the bottom of my parents trees inside.

Now that he is getting taller we have had to move his jumperoo up yet again and it is now at the highest it can go! Because its all the way up he can now reach the thing that goes across it. The other night we were eating dinner and Dave says, "Wow, Logan I know you are hungry, but you don't have to eat your bouncer!!" I didn't get it until I looked at what he was doing...

He now has 6 teeth!! It seems like they keep coming and won't stop! He still smiles all the time!! He just makes me so happy when I look at him and he gives me a big cheesy grin! I love him so much and I can't believe he is almost 9 Months old!! He is going to be a year before we know it! AHH!!
